My Experience

With over 20 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher, interventionist, literacy specialist, and homeschool educator, my approach blends professional expertise with a warm, relationship-centered experience for both students and families.

At For the Love of Learning, I offer individualized academic support and thoughtful, data-informed evaluations designed to meet each learner where they are– and help them grow with confidence.

Whether you’re seeking support, clarity, or direction, each service is designed to feel personal, practical, and encouraging. I am in the business of alleviating the overwhelm for homeschool families, public and private school parents, and those precious little learners themselves.

Academic Tutoring & Support

  • One-on-one tutoring tailored to your child’s unique strengths, gaps, and learning style
  • Sessions are designed to be engaging, confidence-building, and appropriately challenging; helping students make meaningful progress without overwhelm
  • In-person sessions available for families in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee; virtual options also available as well

Educational Consultations

Scheduling an educational consultation may be right for you if:

• You are curious about homeschooling but have no idea where to begin

• You have an student who is struggling and is in need of additional support

• You are a homeschool parent and in need of help with curriculum selection, planning, structuring your homeschool rhythm, and support for learners with varied needs

• You would like to know more about how to build a strong foundation and foster the love of learning for your little ones (perfect for toddlers and preschoolers)

Academic Evaluations

A relaxed, low-pressure assessment designed to evaluate reading, writing, and math skills. We meet in a comfortable setting (often a local library), where I administer a variety of custom assessments which identify strengths, gaps, and instructional levels.

Families receive:

-A detailed summary of findings

-Personalized curriculum recommendations when applicable

-Suggested next steps for growth

-A formal evaluation letter for homeschool families seeking end-of-year proof of progress
